Hyperion Enterprise Migration to HFM

Hi,
Currently, I am working in Hyperion Enterprise and i Joined in this project in August. I am only one person supporting HE application. As HE has stopped support and no updates available. Thinking to migrate it to HFM.

Before this project I worked 5 years in Hyperion Planning, Essbase and I have a basic knowledge on HFM.

So could you please let me know what are the steps we need to take before I need to present Migration plan to My client and what are the advantages with this Migration in terms of cost saving, technology benefits, Etc....



your help on this is really appreciated.

Secondary Charge Shipment-null pointer Exception

Hi all,

I'm trying to create Secondary charge shipment using Quantity type"Received" in Secondary Charge rule.... But when I'm Using action"BUILD SECONDARY CHARGE" its giving "No Valid Secondary Charge Rules. No Secondary Charge Shipments Built."

Then from Otm help i understood that Actual deliveries are recorded using the Shipment Stop Manager. so in stop manager i confirmed the ship units quantity.Once i did this i tried same action then i'm getting null pointer exception"java.lang.NullPointerException"

Please can anyone suggest on how it works

OTM Data Purge Error Encountered

Hi All

I need your advice to know as to where I might be going wrong related to OTM Purge process:

  • Need to purge data for GTM Transactions which older than 180 days & not modified.
  • I created a saved query for the GTM Transactions older than 10 days and not modified on Test Instance for a test run.
  • I logged into DBA.ADMIN domain. Ran the mark for purge process in process management of Configuration & administration module.
  • Data type query object selected was GTM Transaction and saved query was selected and the process was submitted.
  • In view logs there was an exception encountered mentioning 'query could not be retrieved'.
"
2015-11-04 10:53:31.483105147ErrorExceptionQuery PURGE_TT151030-00000004 for class gtm.server.query.transaction.GtmTransactionQuery could not be retrieved"



Please provide your suggestions to resolve the situation.

In 6.3 for event tracking Agent:PROCESS_TRACKING_EVENT has action as LEGACY SHIPMENT MATCHING


This action does not take any parameters. How does it matches the shipment events with shipments.

In 6.3 version GLogXML or in ShipmentStatus xml i do not see any refnum qualifier as 'GLOG', but when receving shipment tracking event GLOG is created with shipment gid.


How this GLOG refnum is being created in Event tracking screen?

Actual Shipment updating Weight and Volume - Urgent

Hi Gurus,

Our client does not have ability to send Actuals to OTM instance, instead based on invoice recieved we need to distribute weight, volume and pieces count to order equally.

Solution implemented: Based on Invoice, I have written PLSQL procedure which will distribute weight, volume and Pieces and using direct XML approach (pkg_util) it will insert an Release XML to OTM which will update weight etc. And agent is configured which will propagate changes to Shipment, Sell side shipments.
This approach works great if Invoice has only one order release.We are facing issue when we have more than 1 order release. For the first order release, uploaded XML works great but for second ; XML gets processed but Agent Action "ORDER RELEASE - MOD - PROGATE CHANGES' fails with below error


insert into shipment_infeasibility (shipment_gid,feasibility_code_gid,domain_name) values (?,?,?) at
Cannot add the SHIPMENT_INFEASIBILITY record. [SHIPMENT_GID, FEASIBILITY_CODE_GID] must be unique.

Any pointer is appreciable.

load configuration fails

Hi,

Can you please help me on this load configuration scenario...OTM VER 6.2.10

1: Smaller size ship unit can not be stacked on bigger one. Only staking criteria is if length and width is same for both the ship units

2: maximum weight stacking criteria is not working for non similar ship units as well
maximum stacking weight limit = 100kg
I have taken 10 ship unit each 50kg. In this case system should stack 2 level (50+50)

New OTM Install Login Problem

Hi All,
I am quite new to OTM and having issues with the First time Login.

This is a new install of OTM version 6.3.2 on Linux RHEL 6.4 and Oracle Database 11.2.0.1.0
We are trying to setup a new instance for the POC Purpose and having issues with the first time login page.(I have never been able to login)

After restarting the OTM Server, when the Login page is presented, I am trying to login as GUEST.ADMIN and the system password CHANGEME and I was getting Invalid username and password.
I have reset the password (using update_password.sh script) as per the istructions via Note 1278780.1 and after that the error got replaced with "A connection to the server could not be established"
The glog.app.log file shows the following errors.

2015-11-03 23:51:33.579 0 Error Exception java.sql.SQLException: ORA-28110: policy function or package GLOGOWNER.VPDWRGRANTED_SELECT1692 has error

Based on some other feedback I have also tried to update the DB password of 'GUEST.ADMIN' to 'V5LAZBUaqUQSv0OFg9OmKjnOooB3CNPlk2egryiMYsk=' and 'V5LAZBUaqUQSv0OFg9OmKjnOooB3CNPlk2egryiMYsk=' (not sure which is one is the correct encrypted value for CHANGEME), bounced both the app and web server tried logging in using 'GUEST.ADMIN' unsuccessfully.

I am uploading the Logs and the properties file for your reference.Attachment 1951

Driver & Equipment ID in Sell Shipment

Hi,

When a Sell Shipment is planned, an Equipment Type is defaulted from Itinerary setup.

The same way, can anyone tell me from where the Driver ID & Equipment ID gets defaulted for a planned sell shipment :confused:

Created a simple website which currently have documentation available for OTM Integration schema (GLogXML.xsd). It will help us while working on integration requirements.

We can use it as a quick guide to refer schema elements instead of looking for schema editors with design view. Currently 6.3.6 version’s schema is available for reference.

6.3.1 - Match Shipment based on Saved query

Hey All,

I am running tracking event matching agent based on saved query which is basically matching the refnum on the shipment with a remark value on the tracking event. I am getting following error. Checked metalink - same error appeared in 6.1.3 version so logically would have got resolved in 6.3.1 version.

Anyone can explain if they hv seen this error or how is it?

How to restrict Equipments to Equipment Type/Equipment to Equipment Group?

Hi,

1. I have planned a Buy Shipment
2. Navigation: Actions > Fleet Management > Assign > Equipment Type
3. Equipment Group is defaulted from Shipment
4. In Equipment Type field/Equipment, all the values which are not related to Equipment Group/Equipment Type is also displayed to select (As shown in the attachment)

Is there any way to restrict them. Like an Equipment Type XYZ is selected, all the Equipments in Equipment Type should be displayed to select.

Automated THU Creation

Hi all, we are trying to figure out what 'automated' handling unit creation capabilities does OTM have? We would like to use OTM to 'recommend' packing orders/shipment based on predetermined handling units that we configure. Ideally we would like it at the Shipment level, but Order level will also be ok.

For example, if say we get 50 items on an Order Release, we would like OTM to tell us, based on say the dimensions of a pallet (5x5x5) and those of a box (2x2x2), how many pallets or boxes should the goods be packed in.

To take this further, at the Shipment level, if we have 2 or 3 orders on the same shipment, can OTM recommend handling units based on mixed items/lines across orders? So basically OTM takes some items from Order 1, and 2 and builds on pallet, and say some from 2 and 3 and builds one box etc.

Not sure if OTM has any such capabilities, but any pointers would help.
